No heat from Dimplex Horton coal effect fire

I have a Dimplex Horton coal effect fire: the lights (flame effect) are still working and the fan works BUT there's no heat. The thermostat still clicks when adjusted up and down on the dial and the fan runs but there is no heat from the elements - any ideas and suggestions welcome?
