Hi all, hope you can help.

My central heating is working fine, but i have no hot water unless the radiators are being used. I have operated the hot water cylinder stat, turned to max and the pump starts to run but the boiler wont fire?

Im not sure how to check the wiring. The 3 way valve is about 6 months old, replaced this due to being unable to shut the radiators down.

Once valve was replaced, radiators worked correctly.

Thanks for any help you can give.

thank you for your fast response. Will i be able to operate/adjust the switch, or would it be another replacement valve assembly.

Thanks again.

Thanks Kev, its cooling down here again tonight so when the heating kicks in i'll get hot water. But i will post my findings after ive removed the cover. Still cant get my head around why the pump runs but boiler wont fire? Are they using seperate switches in the valve? Sorry for all the questions, im still learning!

ohh hang on, it would need the pump for central heating so,,, answered my own question..... Sorry

would it make sense to check the wiring from the valve? I have five wires. I would imagine that i should get a live to the pump, one to the boiler. Would the others be an earth and then one more to operate the valve motor, that leaves one more??? Gosh this aint easy is it!!

whats the valve :?:

and bear in mind ive had a drink

ok, so the orange wire is switched from the hot water cylinder stat. Which wires then become live for the pump & boiler?
