No hot water!!

Balls come loose in the 3 port.

If the ball had come loose ( virtually impossibility because they have a hole through them and sit on a shaft but... ) then it would be loose and both ports would be open.

The OP says there is not HW without CH so thats a control or motor valve microswitch problem or a failed or jammed motor valve.

I said Loose Tony not off, and there's one sat in the garage, that was doing exactly what the op describes.

Yes, but if the ball comes loose, which practically means comes a little way off the pin then it will not seal either port and be effectively always in the mid position.

So what I said will apply.

Tony

Nope, it seals both ports.

I'll let you have it next time we meet.

Woke up in front of fire at half 7 this morning with a half typed reply on screen .

Cant understand why she goes in a mood with me its not like i am under her feet

Right then, I've taken some pics they are abit rubish but looking at them the pump is a 3 point valve pump not the one I originally suggested sorry, and I can only see the cylinder tank and the water header tank I will try and post you my pics......

Since the ball moves from one port to the other then I dont see how it can seal both ports although in an odd senario I agree that it could physically block the "vertical" of the "T".

Are you going to Interbuild at the NEC around the the 21-24 October or do I have to wait until late November?

Tony

Not both ports at once you tit

I have a ticket for interbuild yes.

Nope, it seals both ports.

If you say that then the normal interpretation is that its blocking BOTH ports at once.

If it comes off the pin then it can block EITHER A or B port, one at a time, or it could in theory block the AB port although pump pressure would make that unlikely.
