No hot water, boiler in a BAXI Duo Tec 28, fitted in 2006 so outside of warranty. Engineer reckons it is the fan that has broken, anyone heard of similar problems with the fan in this boiler breaking down? Any ideas in terms of replacement and labour costs (Leyland, Lancashire)?

Central heating is apparently working ok
Then the fan is ok and your engineer has mis-diagnosed the fault.DHW demand will operate a flow switch which tells the diverter to operate in hot water mode.I would suggest he checks the flow switch 1st.You don't mention if any error codes are displayed.

Thanks for the info', I'll be back later this evening to check out what error codes are on and will re-check the heating situation. Will post results later.

After running hot water for a minute Error code displayed on boiler is E1 then returns to 60 then returns to 22. Also not convinced CH is working as well. Pressure at 1.5 bar on boiler meter.

It's definately the fan thats failed. Is this a come problem and maybe a design fault?
