Is this true? Been told different things over the last 4 weeks some say it only applies to central heating systems and gas fires

What about farting?

That comes under building control and at £300 notes a throw to inspect and test the gas it could get very expensive

Any gas leak would also be riddor reportable and would require the appliance to be shut off and made safe.

dunno if it complys with the regs but

should do the trick

Every gas appliance needs to be fitted by some one who knows what they are doing, its only common sense.
If you can verify there is 20mb ( not a fraction above or below) of working gas pressure available at cooker inlet.then you read and understand the makers instructions, you then are half the way there.
Now you should inform your neighbours that you intend to fit a gas appliance, they may need to seek alternative accomodation if you get it wrong.
Inform your house insurance company that you are going to alter gas fittings in your property.

Please pay a corgi registered installer to fit your cooker.if second hand have makers instruction book available or suffer a wasted visit.

Sorry this is a cr-p reply but its the law according to the god of little dogs.

I as a registered installer was pulled up by corgi inspector as a cooker i fitted for a large company, which sounds like skuuryies.became defective as house owner moved it to opposite wall, all in compression fittings.the word sieve now comes to mind.

So now all cookers or moveable appliances i now fit have to be photographed and a copy sent to corgi,my insurers and my thai brides in waiting.

Enjoy cooking.

SAY CHEESE....i love cheese.

Do you do the photography in order to prevent people moving stuff and blaming you, or have CORGI actually demanded you do this now?

I hope the house owner was charge full rate for sorting out the mess.

With the advent of camera phones I now take a pic of most stuff, especially pcbs where theres loads of wires and gas appliances that I condemn and label up. When I load them into the computer I can check the properties to see when the pic was taken to create a 'blog' of what I did and when. You never know it might just save my ass in court one day!

I used to fart after I'd got out of the van but before I got into the house. But that might be within 2.4 metres of my neighbour's boundary so now I have to hold it in till I'm in the house and the resident female isn't happy. She says I must go nearer the neighbour but of course that's only OK if I can guarantee dry farts. Much distress - can you get portable soakaways?
