When the boiler is cold, drawing hot water or using the CH causes the boiler to vibrate.

I have found the best way to temporary eliminate this noise is to cycle between DWH and CH. After doing this several times the noise stops.

The problem then starts all over again when the boiler is cold.

The vibration feels like its coming from the gas valve.

Prior to this noise I had removed and cleaned the burner. descaled the heat exchanger and replaced a holed diaphragm.

Has anyone come accross this problem before.

Solenoid and modu reg.
How do I test them.
Can they be tested in situ?

Would just like to point out this noise was not there prior to replacing holed diaphragm.

Ok I,ve done some checking.

When the boiler is making its vibrating noise the flames on the burners are really low, then when noise stops they go up to full height.

Is this consistent with solenoid and/or servo. If so can they be easily replaced or do I need a new gas control valve.

The noise only came about after firing up after servicing.

Is it possible to get air locks in the gas supply? I shut the gas off at the meter not at the boiler.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

best input i could give u is

get a corgi reg person in asap before anything bad happens, stop doing it yourself
