Hi All,
New to the forum so will try my best to explain, moved into my first place a year or so ago and I have a potterton profile 50e boiler which has worked fine it has a DAB pump attached to the system. All the rad's are hot and work fine all balanced ok.
Since the heating went on it has making a loud noise from the pump when the heating is on. I have looked around the board and guessed their is air in the system. I have unscrewed the nut (when the system was off) to release air however I was not sure how far to unscrew it and a dribble of dark ish water came out no air.
I have yet to bleed the radiators around the house which could also be the problem picking up a key tommorrow. I know it may take a couple of tries to get all the air out.
I am after some advice on the pump as there is three settings which I have guessed is a speed setting it is currently on 2 if i switch it to 3 it sounds like it is about to take off, if I put it on 1 the noise is lower and seeing as the airing cupboard is right next to the bedroom in the mornings it would be handy if I could leave it on this but I am not sure if this is ok to do so as I would imagine it has been put on 2 for a reason.
Any help/suggestions on the problem would be much appreciated to stop the grief from the Mrs...
