Non turbo new car

Are there any new normally aspirated petrol engine vehicles on sale in the UK?, 1.6 litre at least. Just a normal run around.

If your buying new why worry about a turbo?
I've had cars and vans that were 16+ years old and no turbo trouble.

Runaround. Hyundai i20 or Suzuki swift .
1.6l is a big engine these days it seems

Same here. Turbo on my van is original and almost 21 years old. Regular oil and filter changes plus letting the engine run a bit if the engine is hot and been working hard/hardish, rather than turning off the ignition as soon as you stop, will keep turbos reliable.

Unless there's another reason for not wanting a turbo?

Car is for the wife. She hates anything new. I'm going to have problems as I think all new cars have tyre pressure monitoring and lane assist, plus who knows what else, and they will annoy the heck out of her. The less stuff a car has, the less to go wrong. Might be better to lease.

Some drivers (I use the term loosely) will benefit from the day that driverless cars become the norm

Seem to remember the Mazda petrol range are classed as normally without turbo.

Yes, the Dacia Jogger gave an impressive read. Although a turbo as most cars now are, it would IMO make an ideal car for a lady.

Could you just buy one with a turbo and not tell her it's got one? I don't think Mrs. Avocet knows (or even cares) that her car has one!
