Norfrost C6AEW Freezer

I am fitting a new thermostat to this freezer but cannot locate a duct or tube to guide the capillary. The old one pulled out ok and I tried feeding the new one into the hole in the same direction. However, there does not appear to be any guide to follow, the capillary appears to push straight into the insulation. Can anyone help?
