I agree. People tend to manipulate words, etc into something they want to hear.
Also, people (subconsciuosly) don't pay so much attention to things that are not correct, which means they are astounded when they read something like a prediction that has come true - they have forgotten the ones they read that didn't come true
This also ties in with probabilities - For example, a prediction can only be true or false - so there is a 50/50 chance of getting it right
