Oak Decking - what fixing?

I have some oak decking (grooved) to lay. I understand the need for stainless steel fixings but what is the best way to fix oak decking as discreetly as possible. Or is it a simple case do drill countering an screw from the top?

you can get clips/brackets that side fixing but may not be suitable for oak but may be ok as the black staining will be out off sight
