Any thoughts on how suitable oak kitchen worktops are for a family with 3 small children (<4). We prefer the feel of wood compared to laminate/granite/composite/etc and are not too fussy about them looking like new so if they stain after a while its not a problem.
Its really a question of what happens if you don't often have time for monthly oiling and quarterly sanding down etc but instead just wipe them with oil once in a while and generally treat them like you would other kitchen surfaces.
