Oh Jimmy Jimmy

Is it more difficult to get accepted to study medicine in the UK or Europe?

Yes, it is generally considered more difficult to get accepted to study medicine in the UK, due to the very high admission criteria. This is largely due to the fact that there is a very limited number of seats per year and only the best of the best can get in.

have you actually read the medical school entry requirements?
Nor am I interested. And I'm not interested in your deflective trolling either.

I have discussed the forum topic (Jimmy Carr vid) and agree that the UK needs to do more financially to help young people. You meanwhile have digressed into fantasy land, as per.

Here is my statement on the subject...
keep the entry standards and the standard of education the same as they are now.

We just need to make it more affordable/accessible to those that can reach the education standard. Something all the RWR political parties would baulk at.
Go troll somewhere else boyo.

LOL you are deluded, you have come onto a thread with no knowledge of the UCAS entry requirements and say, "keep it as it is" then wonder why we have a shortage of Drs. You couldnt make it up.

There are only 4 medical schools in the UK, why do you think that is? You can do any degree at any university and have a multitude of choice, not medical ones you cant.

Even the foreign students that we used to have knocking at our doors for medical places have left for other Universities accross Europe, Our own British students are going to Poland and other Universities too because of our harsh entry requirements. Then there is the cost, it is cheaper to study abroad than it is to study at home. However we can keep importing Drs rather than training our own.

You posted this on the EV thread. But I've answered here instead.

The reason grades are so high is because places are limited. There are plenty of UK students who would make great doctors if we funded more medical school places. But that is essentially the easy bit. The much bigger problem would be the bottleneck of how to train them once they graduate from medical school. That requires massive reorganisation and funding for the NHS and I don't believe at the moment there is the willpower to make it work

But accross Europe the entry level is easier to gain access to train
