Evening all hope everyone is well, just want some advice regarding oil fault finding. Been told I’m going to be fault finding on oil boilers in my area there are a few grants but mainly Worcester, some new but mainly the older models. I’m going to get my self booked on a few courses with the manufacturers, and do my oftec but just seeing what I’m going into, do gas breakdowns no worries, but as I say a bit nervous as never done oil.Any feedback would be great thanks peeps

Ideally you would be shadowing someone to learn the ropes.
It takes time to get familiar with boilers.
Make sure any manus' courses are specifically aimed at fault finding and are not marketing for installers. Riello would be a good starter.

Do not expect to learn much from your Ofuck courses !!

A burner course such as Riello or EOGB will be more use than a boiler course. The foibles of an oil burner are only learnt with experience, and as terry says, shadowing an experienced techie would be best. Oheck will teach you little. Just try and remember to start at the beginning, ie the tank and oil supply and go forward. You cannot rely on the fuel like you can gas.
