I need to get the details of the nozzle on my Mistral boiler to a plumber tomorrow - the details on the metal plate inside say "Nozzle 165" does this make sense?

Does not seem consistent with nozzle sizes/types when I look on the internet.

Its best to look at the actual nozzle itself.....it should have markings such as:
Danfoss (maker)
.60 80' EH which means the nozzle will pass .60 U.S gallons per hour, at a fan spread of 80 degrees. EH stands for Extra Hollow - i.e the cone of oil spray is hollow. H for hollow and S for solid (spray cones) are also common.

If your 'plumber' knows his stuff he will carry a range of nozzles ready for the commonest boiler burners........assuming he knows what he is doing of course!

Make sure he sets the burner up using both an oil pressure gauge and combustion meter.

Okay - assuming I wantedto look at the nozzle myself...... give me a clue?

I have absolutely no idea where/how. I have checked through the manual/documentation and nothing there, the only thing I have is this inscription on the metal plate.

The markings are on the actual nozzle itself - on the hexagon flats, usually.
To get at the nozzle, the blast tube has to come off - best to mark its position first with a scriber.
This should expose the nozzle and electrodes. Unscrew the nozzle, (5/8" or 17mm) but hold the pipe that it fits into with another spanner. (19mm usually).

Time to call a specialist oil boiler engineer I feel - no disrespect to plumbers (I could not do a good job of a bathroom!) Oil & Gas fired boilers are a bit specialist, so a boiler engineer for the boiler and a plumber for a beautiful bathroom ;)
