So my weil mcclain oil burner started tripping last night. Just went down and reset it a few different times and it would fire back up. Well now when I press the reset NOTHING happens. I just hear a faint buzz in the box but the oil pump doesnt turn on nor do the electrodes try to light. Nothing is tripped. Any suggestions?

I've never heard of that particular burner, but if there is no response to pressing the reset button, it would indicate that the burner motor doesn't want to rotate...this is often due to a capacitor failure, bolted onto the side of the motor. Its often an aluminium cylindrical thing, with its value typically expressed in uF......for example, 4 uf (or 4 microfarads).
its usually worth a gamble to replace it.

The only thing you can really do is to remove the motor from the burner, connect it up to the mains supply and see that it starts and runs up to the required speed...in the UK, usually around 2800 RPM.

Could it be there motor cause the transformer isnt working either but the box is getting power to it.
