a friend from work wishes to fit a new oil tank in a different location to the old one in his garden.are there all sorts of building regs etc to follow and does the piping need a slight fall from the tank to the pump or will the pump manage to overcome.would he be better off getting a company to do it for him.thanks in advance for any info.

Check out the OFTEC site; www.oftec.org

Id would suggest you get some one that supplies and installs tanks, that way the work should comply to the building regulations.

3400 litre tank or less and you can get away with 760mm from boundary and the tank does not have to be above the boiler as you can fit a tiger loop.

Ah, but we don't know if it will be near a pond or stream etc and will need a bunded tank
