Old Heat and Light in Bathroom.

In my bathroom I have an old unit and this seems to be fed from the lighting circuit. It is marked as 650/750W. Is this wired correctly? It works OK.

They were designed to connect to a lighting circuit, and can actually still be purchased new:

however why anyone would want such a thing is a mystery.

Hi i also had one of these in bathroom + kitchen had to change it felt unsafe with all the moisture content thats in both rooms. Plus use to be a pain pulling the string a few times just for light lol

If it's the type with a circular encapsulated element and a built in 3 or 4 position pull switch, they were quite common in the 50's and 60's.

Just because it works doesn't mean it's safe.

Best to get a local spark in to inspect/test and advise.
