Old loft hatch

Sorry for what’s probably another daft question but has anyone come across asbestos loft hatches? Ive had a little scroll but couldn’t find any information on here. I’ve got a 1950s push up loft hatch. We are thinking of having a new hatch with a ladder installed and came across the possibility of the old one being asbestos insulating board. It’s fairly thick, probably a 1cm or more very white and chalky. It’s got what looks like a thin layer of brown paper each side although the side in the loft has insulation stapled to it which according to paperwork was done in 2004 but the actual board is original

That's plasterboard.

Back in the day, loft hatches tended to be of block board, 3/4" thick. In commercial buildings they may have had 1/4" of asbestos cement board on the top in some situations.

It would be unusual for the hatch to be wholly of asbestos material. But perhaps not impossible.

I don't think it would be a plasterboard hatch.

Post clear images, especially of the edges and all edges if they are different.

Thanks, Im going with the thoughts of it’s not doing any harm if its not messed around with but the next time we go up there I’ll take some photos. I wondered if it was normal for an older house and something people came across often.
