Hi all,
Wondering if any suggestions on this one before I need to contact a locksmith

Moved into a new property on Friday and one issue found is the doors going into the garden.

The bottom right corner of the left door appears to have been closed and locked while out of alignment.
We can’t open the doors with a key at all, key won’t turn and doors have no movement in them either.

Currently out of ideas other than having the lock drilled

Are you sure it's even the correct key then?

Changing locks is probably a good idea anyway after buying a house, you don't know who still has keys and it's not beyond the realms of possibility that you've purposely been left with a different key.

The gap at the bottom should be easily rectifiable by adjusting the hinges, it's an old Anglian door and I'm not sure on the type of hinge they used from memory

Instead of a locksmith you might want to try a window/door doctor type outfit as from experience I found locksmiths aren't well versed enough to adjust and align pvc doors

Where are you based, don't need GPS location or postcode, just a county

Hi,
Yes it could well be the wrong key,

A few different people have tried every key we were left with no success. A couple of keys do go in the lock but with only a mill or 2 of movement

Based in Colchester, Essex

I did think a window/door person might be better but then wasn’t sure if the lock would need drilling out as you can’t get to the hinges

I’ll probably send the pictures to a few local companies who do both and see if they are confident they can resolve
