open vent Y-plan heating sysem, boiler goes to lock out as it overheats. I have bled the radiators three times and the boiler starts working but every next morning boiler goes to lock out again and there is no water in the sysem every time. what could be the problem? could it be pumping over into f&e cistern or a leak under the floorboards at ground floor? going to investigate tomorrow morning , any suggestions please , thanks .

How can an OV system empty itself and you not noticing that the exp tank is constantly refilling? Oh, and a better description of your boiler would help.

It is a baxi solo 3 boiler. It is true that system gets empty and doesnt refill itself until i bleed the radiators.

Saying that the system gets empty is very misleading. You are probably getting air in your system and don't have a leak. Finding why the air is getting in will solve your problem. A pic of the pipework in the airing cupboard would help.
