The garage had solid walls apart from he door and the sensor is pointing away from the door. I can’t imagine it’s picking signal from the other side of these walls. Nevertheless, the other side isn’t kitchen and living room. Neither were occupied at 2am when the alarm went off

Spider crawling across the detector? Rat/Mouse in the garage?
I remain doubtful about the rat scenario (not impossible). Spiders are plausible although no webs or incriminating evidence was available at the scene!
Also, how resilient are the DT suppose to be as I’ve replaced this PIR for such purposes. I’m sure I’ve had spiders here previously and I’m sure there are tonnes in my loft too where I have a DT that hasn’t failed.
