just been to view a property with my son,he is interested in buying this flat.
has the above boiler, the heating is working place hot on arrival but noticed a continous stream of brown gunge dripping down under boiler directly central.
people living there are tenants so no info available from them regarding service contracts.
does anyone know if this is a common fault or is a repair to expensive compared with a new boiler.

thanks in advance.

Without seeing where this is coming from its not possible to say anything other than to budget for up to £250 to repair.

But for a flat costing over £140,000 thats not very significant.

You should ask for a copy of the latest Gas Safety Certificate as that will show any other deficiencies and indicate how well the owner has been running the property.

Optia? probably updated Ideal Classic. If I remember correctly this was a Plumbcentre own brand.
