Hello, I want to put an outside socket in my garden, here is what I want to do

Drill hole in kitchen to outside and run a spare from a kitchen socket

fit outside junction box

connect to 4 way junction weather proof box for pressure washer and low voltage lights etc

connect a switch from junction box and run to an outside flood type light

Does this look ok?

Thanks :D

No

* - Most houses use the final ring system this means any more than one socket needs a fused connection unit (FCU).

* - Although today all new houses have RCD protection on all circuits often one needs to add it so a RCD FCU may be required.

* - Remember the 150W limit for outside lights so likely another FCU required to drop the fuse rating further.

* - By time you pay the LABC their fee cheaper not to DIY. (See Part P)

OK thanks for your reply,

Could I plug in the low voltage light transformer indoors and drill the cable through to outside?

Thanks, guys, is there anything I can do? the socket in the kitchen is on the other side of the wall.

Sorry forgot to mention, the house is post 1996, both socket circuits and the cooker are on an RCD.
