My outdoor lighting is run from a box in a cupboard indoors which has controls for two stand alone sensors and relevant flood lights (front and back) seems a bit antiquated but works OK,
problem is both my sensors require replacing as the plastic front covers are brittle and breaking up, the cables connecting the sensors appears very thin. it is white (possibly heat resistant covering) not much wider than a charging cable but carries the requisite four cables, very thin? question is do I need a special sensor for this system or can I just buy one off the shelf.

Many thanks in anticipation

Yes you do, they will be likely 12V DC control system. What is the make/model as one of these brands of systems is no longer made. A current model controller can be seen here, also on that site are matching sensors.

Thank Echo the husky, sorry for delay in response, been on some heavy duty night shifts. there is no makers name on the control box, but the sensors look like an older version of those in the pic's,
to be honest I think I'll just rip out the control unit, and all the sensor wires, and sensors', replace the control box with a couple of FCU's, utilising the 2.5mm and 1.5mm cables already in situ and change the floodlight's with some with inbuilt sensors I've had knocking around for a while. reckon about £3.00 instead of £70..00 plus
Again many thanks
