Outlook Express - Can't delete messages

In Outlook Express i cannot "Empty deleted messages" although they are deleted because they cannot be "found" they still appear.
Any ideas ?

Outlook Express files have a .dbx extension.

I believe that the file that contains deleted items is named "Deleted Items.dbx" - strangely enough

Now, I am not 100% sure of this (so use at your own risk!). Close OE and find the file and delete it. When you re open outlook it should rebuild the Deleted File.dbx and you should be back to normal

Can you select them (all in the folder "Ctrl+A" ) and hold shift while you hit "Delete"?

That permanently deletes them.

(Does the same as empty the deleted items folder).

Thanks all dont know what i did but its o.k know,i think it was delete on exiting i highlighted,but anyway many thanks,....Neo you must save the world !!!
