I want to put in a outside light, the ones i have seen only seem to have one cable running to them (unless im missing something). This cable comes from the switch. This confused me as how will the light get the neutral as the switch normally only supplies the live. I know this is probably a simple question and im being stupid but all help is welcome.

Cheers

So how would that wire up? i feed the power to the switch from the last light on my circuit, then how does it connect from there?

i was just going to connect it up like any normal light on the loop but i take it this would be wrong

Incoming and outgoing switched live to the fitting go across the switch and both neutrals connect together via through crimp or connector block.

that was noit your origonal question. you only asked how they can be wired with only one cable from the switch.

i suggest you see either the WIKI or STICKY

both have lots of drawings
