Hi there,

I am just about to build some decking along the back wall of my house and want to add an outside double socket so that I can use appliances etc.

The decking will run alongside the lounge and kitchen external walls, both of which have sockets on their respective circuits.

I am planning to spur off one of these sockets and locate an IP66 RCD double socket on the outside wall.

My question is what cable should I use for the spur? None of the cable will be exposed to teh elements and will only bridge the gap in the cavity between the internal and external socket.

The kitchen socket is more conveniently located but am I right in thinking that regs mean the lounge socket would a better DIY choice?

Any help would be appreciated
