Im a bit sceptical as when I changed broadband from Sky - Virgin they lost my land line. So I lost my land line. Just a bit paranoid

Port Authorisation Code. Needed when you swap from one mobile operator to another but want to keep the same phone number.
This is exactly why the GD is a better place now for new information and learning things we never knew.

Virgin have a really bad rep for CS.

Even when their customers work for them...

I'd absolutely hate to lose my landline number. I chose it specially when we moved to a different exchange 27 years ago.

Imagine you were a business and they lost your number.

But it's much easier to move mobile providers and take your number with you now.

In the early days, you had to practically beg them.

You don’t even have to speak to anyone nowdays. Just text PAC to 65075. You’ll get a text back with your PAC code. It doesn’t cost anything, you are not committed to using it and it's valid for a month. If it expires, just repeat the process.
