I used travis perkins trade white emulsion as a mist coat and then applied two further coats on walls and ceiling, before applying Dulux colourguard formulation rich matt has a wipe-able finnish.Iused two coats i used two coats on the walls give a rich deep colour and marks wipe of without any problem.
this is all on freshly plastered walls and I have done this in two house over an eight year period when i sold the last place people thought it had just been painted but some of the rooms had been done 6 years earlyer and still looked good just wiped them down before we put it on the market
