I wallpapered a ceiling using Superfresco wallpaper. Its paste the ceiling type of wallpaper. However, an area of the ceiling has stains which appears yellowish and the staining can be seen on the wallpaper especially during the day when there is sunlight.

Would it be possible to paint over the stains without painting the entire ceiling or would it show up as patchy and not blend in?

You will probably see the patches.

If there really are stains, you may need a stain block first - there are oil-based and water-based ones.

You can try patching it - but be prepared to have the paint the ceiling.

It's not that hard if you are worried about getting paint everywhere.

Cover up whatever you can, and have a buck of clean water and some clean rags handy, and clean up any splashes immediately.

Once you have neatly cut in round the edges you can do the fun part.
