Not the usual question about how to wire a 2 way switch as I know that's in the FAQ.....I want to wire up a pair of 2 way dimmers......had assumed that it was the same as for switches, but in the leaflet MK provide with the dimmers it says to only use one dimmer and put a 2 way switch at the other end.......am I being a bit slow here.....why!!!!?

you can't pair up dimmers in the same way as switches, the idea of two way switching only applies to switches and connecting dimmers in series or parallel will produce strange results.

two way dimmers essentially consist of a two way switch with a dimmer connected between the common of the actual switch and the common terminal so when paired with a normal switch you can turn on and off from both ends but only control the level from one place.

if you wan't to be able to control dimming from more than one location you need to use master-slave dimmers.
