Parking

We are planning to extend our present home from a 2 bedroom cottage type house to a 3/4 bedroom house, nearly twice the size. There has only been one car parked and we have 2, sometimes 3 to park. The property is adjacent to a bus stop on a busy main road.

What is the procedure that governs Planning Department's decision on this? Is there legislation, or do they consult other bodies?

If you do not alter the existing vehicular access, it will not be an issue.
If your application includes for widening the access, the planning dept will consult the council's highways department, and will be guided by them.
