I am new to this forum, so sorry if i am repeating previous topics.
I am re decorating my dining area, and have decided to restore my parquet flooring, but dont have a clue where to start. i have looked on the internet, but there are so many different do's and dont's that it has confused the issue.
For many years it has been covered by carpet, there are a few loose fingers around the edge of the room, its uneven in a couple of places around the edges and its a little paint stained also, i have wire-wooled the paint stains off... but it has left it looking a little dull. Where do i go from here? Can i just apply some form of varnish/oil or Should i sand before using varnish/oil on it. Also which type of product would you recommend? ie varnish, wax, oil etc?
I would really appreciate some advice to get the best finish on my flooring.
