You'll need to format the new partition you have created. Don't format the one you shrank!

Yes, but only by a data recovery specialist.

If you didn't have a backup of essential files, then get ready to spend upwards of £300.

Never ever change partition information without a full backup.

Can you post a picture of what disk manager displays, a J drive? Eh? Confuzzled. I do hope you haven't formatted the OS partition

Hello sorry had to go out when rain finally stopped.

Lol no I dont think the recovery or OS is affected.
The j i refer to is the latest drive to be created think if I can get this pic to work will explain all. i merley want to find out how to get working with drive j now that i created it.. Or.....

There u go a few stella's and print screen works all on it's own

C: does not appear to have been formatted which is good unless you've restored it.

J: looks fine and should be seen in My Computer.

What's the problem exactly?

Eh? C is formatted and has a healthy NTFS files system. But the question remains can you "see" J in My Computer or Explorer?

No - the user states he thinks he accidentally formatted the shrunk part (which would be C) - "I have formated the shrink part icon_redface.gif ?
"

If you look at the disk usage - he hasn't unless he has restored from recovery since. I was just trying to confirm if the user had\hadn't.

Hello.. sorry have to keep going off,
and sorry for confusion..

Yes I can see the new drive j in computer.

The question / problem was how to use this new drive.

I think I sussed it. I tried loading a game into the j drive by changing (of course  ) the drive letter c/ to j/ . and tomb raider is now on j/ and running ok.
as you can see I know nothin lol
So will blunder on with me home movie project.

thanks john .
