I though it was illegal to supply portable electrical items in the UK without having a UK plug fitted.
"Part II introduces a new requirement that most domestic electrical appliances which operate at a voltage of not less than 200 volts must be
supplied fitted with a correctly fused and approved standard plug. As an alternative to fitting a standard plug an appliance may be fitted with a non-
UK plug provided that an approved conversion plug is fitted."
Also
"Responsibility for fitting a standard plug or converter plug will fall to the first supplier of the appliance in the UK."
I think this is sale of goods act? Maybe some one can direct to the correct page with information on?
Eric, if you search for this item on ebay, you see that it is very similar in appearance to those exterior halogen spotlight fittings, and clearly intended for permanent fixing to the wall. So it would be unlikely to be supplied with a plug, or indeed need to be, not being portable when screwed to a wall.
