Newbie here looking for some advice please!
I've had a new inspection chamber put in my garden and the builder has filled around it with pea beach shingle (as per building regs). I want to pave around the area but not sure if I can just pave straight on top of the shingle, or if I have to put something else on top of it first?

Thanks

if your laying slabs which would be laid on mortar then go ahead thats fine.

If your laying block paving on just sand then you need to either cap the trench with some lean mix concrete or use a geotextile membrane to stop the sand filtering away into the clean stone fill around the pipe.
