Hi

Hope you experts can help me please?

I have a two button dimmer. One is for main pendant light (which has an energy saver bulb) which we would like to dim if anyone has any recommendations on ES bulbs? The other is for pelmet lights, this would not be used in dimmable mode.

Is there a module that can be put in place of the dimmable one or does a socket exist where one side is dimmable and one not?

We have these btw http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Images/Products/size_3/KND22BC.JPG

Any help or guidance very much appreciated Many thanks :)

To dim ES you will have to buy one of these,

The best solution to a double switch with one that dims and one that is switch only will be via grid switches.

For that you will need the following

Do note that this makes for a very expensive switch, the dimmer is £27 !!!!

So you haven't fitted the dimmer yet, but want to dim a CFL which has an integral ballast?

I've not found that to work very well, but I've not tried to use a lamp/dimmer pair that's known to work. You may have to do a bit of experimenting.

As for the 1 dimmer + 1 switch, you could use a grid system to mix'n'match if you can find one that looks like the switch you want and has switch modules with round knobs.

Or you might be able to remove the dimmer module and replace it with a suitably rated rotary switch from an electronic components supplier onto which you could fit one of the knobs
