I filled up with nearly £60 worth of diesel on my way home tonight.
After 5-6 miles the car gave a shudder and steering became very stiff before I switched off and coasted in neutral for a short distance. As I turned the engine off I noticed the engine management light had come on. Thankfully when I stopped it was right on the entrance to my usual garage so I was able to coast down the slope and park up. Brakes were as stiff as hell.
Car had been running perfect before and I had been back and forth to work a few times over the last couple of weeks, (a round trip of about 40 miles each day). Oil ok light lit up when I turned ignition to pre-start position.
Anyone got any ideas? I filled up with diesel, (car is diesel before you ask), and my receipt confirms I paid for diesel. Is there a chance the petrol station tanks have inadvertently been mis-filled?
