Phone insurance.

By coincidence i dropped my Galaxy S3 yesterday evening at a friends BBQ and cracked the screen twice and took a few chips out of the plastic phone body, on orange contract and pay for orange care...£5 a month i believe, rang orange this morning to make a claim, new phone being delivered tomorrow between 9 and 1

Yes i could insure my phone through my bank account and yes i could claim on my contents insurance but i bet you wouldn't get a replacement as quick as that.

In one year i got through several handsets.
Under what circumstances?[/quote]

It was an older handset (not a smart phone) but i can't remember the model but I'm sure i have one somewhere.

Anyhoo, the screen was sensitive to pressure and when i used to keep a tape measure in my pocket at the same time as the phone and crouch down or whatever, the screen would black out.

Bleedin pain! At least four handsets maybe more.

Fair enough. However, in joe's case such physical movement may not take place - yet alone with him carrying any tools (other than himself, obviously).

Oddly enough, since having smart phones and despite their complexities, they seem more robust than most of any of my recent 'regular' handsets.

They can cost a bomb to replace though.
