As you can see from this thread alone, three out of six people did not get a reminder...

Before you jump down my throat, have you checked whether the three had changed address in the last ten years and not told DVLA?

The DVLA web site says that they will inform drivers about three months before but only to their last known address.

As i said earlier they managed to remind me of my goods licence expiring but not car.
And i've not change any details, they could be ar*ed for one but not the other.


This is from the DVLA site.

Although the DVLA may send renewal reminders prior to the expiry date, it is your responsibility to make sure that your licence is up-to-date, including getting renewal forms if necessary.

He worked for DVLA?

FYI a move was made and they were informed. Five (5) years before the replacement was required. At the time as many who had moved to the new photo card, we were not informed clearly to renew every 10 years.
It was a motorcycling site that informed me of this.
No car site had a clue at the time.
