That is part of a DP RCBO.

It is normal to have neutrals connected to this.

Simon, I cant zoom in very well. Can you post a link to a bigger version of the picture?

thanks RF didnt realise that

found 'nother prob:
the T+E coming in 3 modules after the RCBO
the earth has been snipped off!
or its 2 core cable. but with a board like that i heavily doubt that.
i also see the swa has been taken out and plastic glad was used (i think)
also, is that and RCD on the top of the case? were you replacing something?

I've got a theory

There is an RCBO sat on top on the DB.

The RCBO requires 2 modules.

Someone has added a new circuit (the one on the MK MCB).

The DB was full so they removed the RCBO and just stuck it on a normal MCB

main earth into board is 6mm

something gone wonky with that module in the middle(the more i zoom the worse the )pic gets) and the black switch above it is off

Open gland in top of CU?
Circuits not in same order on Neutral and Earth as the MCBs
Are the grommets installed in the bottom?
Can't make out the MCB sizes, are these all correct?
Incoming terminal shroud not fully covering the terminals.

Sorry, guys. I've tried to post a bigger, clearer picture, but photoshop fails me...

But, top marks RF! And Spark 123 as well.

That MK breaker is a 40A affair, with 2 x 2.5mm² cables run to it.

The second one in is a 50A breaker with 6mm² attached.

This was fitted for an 8.5kW shower after the muppet "spark" removed a 20A RCBO feeding a shed (seen on the top), and rewired the shed feed in those 2 x 2.5 cables and the 40A breaker.

The same muppet spark fitted the shower iso in Z1, telling the customer,

"It has to go very close to the shower in case you scald yourself....."

The customer responded, "Surely it's quicker to switch off at the shower?"

His reply, "What if that fails?"

The real irony....The shower isolator had jammed... ;)

hi im new here been sparky for 5 years now just sort of introducing my self, now i am sure that the main earth is to small. and on the left the earth block has been painted over  sort of voids the testing part there.

Earth block mate on the left outside of the consumer unit. the cu earth looks well lose aswell and wall looks possible damp beneath it.

He is correct, there is a main earthing block under the CCU to the left, which has been painted over in white.
