I have just found a pigeon on the drive that can't seem to fly so I have put it in my shed with some bread and fat balls and some water.

It will be quite safe but I haven't a clue what to do with it.

Any ideas apart from wringing its neck which is not an option. :(

Also should I make it a bed of some sort. :?:

Dont wring its neck!

Just shoot it and enjoy it as a starter before tomorrows meal.

Paul.

They are pretty hardy birds so should be alright in your shed overnight. Is it on a shelf or off the floor, this will stop it being attacked by anything that might be able to smell it.
Does it have a ring on its leg? If so see what the markings are and ring someone like the RSPCA in the morning. They should be able to tell you the best course of action to take. On the bright side it may just need a rest and be ok tomorrow.

Lets know how it goes.

It is safe enough and nothing will be able to get at it.

I will let you know how it goes.

My neighbour was going to leave it for the cats to get at!

Not an option!

Might be just old, or might have already been attacked or has damaged itself somehow. If it still can't fly after a few days, then you know what must be done. A pigeon that can't fly is about as useful as a fish that floats.

Pigeons are vermin and you should have left it for the cats...

Shouldn't this post be moved to the carpentry section?

if you stick it in the bathroom would it become

loo tenant pigeon?

feed it and leave it in the safe place for a few days, and it should be flying away very soon to it's family.

I used to keep pigeons as a child and they have a certain character about them, not everyone likes them tho.

they do return to a place once they get used to it and are very loyal bird's.

they come in great variaties , fan tail's--- one's that turn around in the air while flying and other types.

oh and give it a name-a suggestion is rocky

was the name for my African grey , but alas it flew away,e

That was sooo bad!

And now you've been given the bird so hop it, (well it can't fly can it?)
