hi i am about to do some pipe work in the kitchen,is it to be copper compression or pushfit??.
p.s.is copper pushfit any good?

It's entirely up to you. I know it sounds glib, but if you're a newcomer to plumbing, then either will do, although you'll find pushfit far easier to work with.

Use compression you dont want nice new shiney kitchen ruined if the pushfit blows off

Pushfit, if properly fitted, will not leak or come loose, which can not be said for compressionfit.
Cut pipe, (deburr, clean thoroughly with wirewool if copper) mark if needed, and pop the joint on.
Since I started using pushfit with full metal ring, never had a leak.

If using pushfit on copper pipes, spray the inside of the fittings with silicon lubricant (any plumbers merchants wiil have this)

Pretty much the same as any pushfit. The only problem with using them (as with using hep fittings) is that once they're on, you'll find it hard to remove. Which is a bit of a pain if you need to adjust something.

Afaik, copper pushfit comes off just as easy as speedfit if you know the trick. Admittedly never used the stuff myself.

I am feeling generous.
It's owning a tool.
Couple of quid, suppliers of copper pushfit should have them.

Like you, I never use these fittings. Think I'd rather spend the couple of quid on an ice cream.
