Why do you have the heating on in the summer?

my room Do you live in a bed-sit or a one room flat?

Do you have access to the boiler?
Is there a thermostat on your radiator?

hi thanks for a reply.the heatings not on right now..guess im just trying to get on the case and find out about this now before it goes back on later in the year.
its a three bedroom flat
there is a cupboard on this floor with a boiler yes
my radiator does not have a thermo just a plastic valve
at top to turn it off or on i think

thanks

Right.

The quick and dirty answer is to put a TRV on the rad. But it's worth digging deeper so please provide as much info about your system as possible, e.g boiler info, what controls you have, how the hot water is heated, what motorized valves you have etc.

ok thanks maybe ill try the trv..re the other questions ill need to probe the house owner for answers so may be a little while getting back with the answer on those..thank you very much for your help so far

Are you in a rented flat? If so, the landlord is responsible for the heating system. You should raise your concerns with him/her. It's not a good idea to start making changes without their agreement - in writing.
