How can I stop my PIR security light turning on and of when its windy?

There are some plants nearby that move in the slightest breeze which keeps triggering the sensor of a night.

It has a Timer switch to adjust how long the light stays on, and it has a light switch to adjust the light setting but it does not seem to have a sensativity switch ???

I can not move the sensor as its in the correct place where I need the security and I can't chop downs the plants!!!

Woody

Are the plants/tree's flapping about in front of a building? That'll trigger them as cold plants in front of a warm building is seen as "movement of heat"

You can "blinker" the sensor with insulation tape to restrict it's field of vision, if this would help.

Other than that it's mounting a standalone sensor with better positioning/more scope for adjustment and bypassing the lights internal sensor.

Thanks Hairyben

If I move the sensor it will not cover the area that I want to light up on my drive.

Some idiot recently tried to let my tyres down!!!

With mine I get the odd false trigger in strong winds but nothing worth worrying about.
If your false alarms are annoying then a new sensor with an adjustable head and sensitivity knob will give you the best options for adjusting the trigger response.

A short burst with one of these may deter future transgressions.

Do you write for the IEEE or Viz!!!

putting tape 9on it only masks where it can see (or where it cant see)

i would suggest you bin it and buy another brand. i am being serious.
