Hi, I've read plenty on this subject but there seems to be conflicting advice. So I would like to give you my personal project for the correct order, cheers;
I'm installing a new wall mounted flat screen tv with sat box, ps3, surround sound etc and I need to run a new power supply to this area. typical, there is no supply anywhere near other than a doublesocket which in itself is a spurred socket.
Am I correct in thinking I should intercept the supply to this double socket and put in a FCU, then re-install the double socket, after the FCU, from which I can 'daisy chain' any amount of further sockets which will have a total load capacity of 13A max?
All help greatly appreciated.

Thank you Sparkwright. Off the same socket, a previous owner has run an FCU after the socket then to an alarm system , which I want to remove. Did that person wire it incorrectly?

Thats a bit grey. Technically its wrong, you are only allowed a double socket on an unfused spur. Though an alarm system only consumes a few watts, so i wouldnt be too concerned about it.
