Hi everyone,

I recently had new upvc windows installed around my house. We have an issue in particular with the kitchen window. We notice more when it’s been raining that there is surface water in the bottom corners on the plaster around the window. I wipe it away and it comes back. When replacing windows the lintel front cracked and a middle section fell off. We were told this would be ok to just cement back on which the fitter did and we wouldn’t have any problems. Now I’m concerned that this window is leaking because of this? Or could it be a small hole in the seals?

could anyone recommend how would be best to check either problem

Thanks in advance

I can see a single vertical crack in the lintel.
Outside or inside the house, can you see any other cracks in the lintel - even hairline cracks?

Putting a long level up to the lintel will show if the lintel has dropped any. Cementing bits back in most likely wont work

The previous frame might have been supporting the lintel but the new frame could be too weak.
Or removing the old frame was a badly done rip-out?

The silicone sealant looks rough and its sealing the trim pieces - maybe moisture is getting behind the trim? Why not take a trim piece off and have a look?
