Plasterboard fixing query

Hi all,

Ordered some plasterboard fixings from Amazon to install some vertical blinds. I've used this type of fixing before and have always found they work okay with a small pilot hole. The ones that have come have their own screws, they look very long for the size fixing. If you tighten the screw fully it comes out the back of the fixing, baring in mind the blind bracket is quite thin I'm wondering if I need shorter screws?
