Just 2 pairs of 3 core into a single switched bedroom socket.
(But dont know if its a ring or a spurred, spur)
Checked due to intermittant faults and found sparking between the 2 neutrals.
When separated 1 neutral is live.
When properly connected  together no live indication and socket works fine.

Any ideas

Almost certain that when you separated the neutrals one of them was still neutral as it was still connected to the neutral bar in the consumer unit.

The other was no longer a neutral and was probably "live" due to being connected to Live via an appliance plugged into another socket that it was connected to.

Not a good idea to disconnect neutrals when the circuit is still energised.

Either this socket is a spur, that someone has spurred from, or it is on the ring, but somewhere between the leg that became 'live' and the CU, there's a break. Either situation is bad, and should be investigated
